Key Management
The documented issue, return and storage of site keys, a part of security services with liability implications.
Security services routinely keep keys for the sites they serve. Key management must provide a complete record of who received and returned which key and when.
The reason is liability: if a key is lost, an entire locking system may have to be replaced in the worst case. Handover details therefore belong in the security log, usually at the start and end of a shift.
