Four Eyes Principle
The practice of always having security critical processes performed or confirmed by two people.
Under the four eyes principle, a critical process is not performed or approved by one person alone. In the security industry, it is used for valuables transport, the issue of keys and particularly sensitive access.
Its purpose is twofold: it reduces the risk of errors and misuse, and it protects the assigned person from being suspected of sole responsibility.
