Night Work
Work between 23 and 6, standard in the security industry and subject to special protective regulations.
The Arbeitszeitgesetz defines nighttime as the period from 23 to 6. Night work is work that includes more than two hours of this period. Anyone who regularly works night shifts is considered a night worker.
This entails special obligations: an entitlement to an occupational health examination and compensation through paid days off or an allowance. The § 3b allowances are also relevant for tax purposes. Their time windows are not identical to the nighttime period under the ArbZG.
