The App for Security Officers
Five tabs, no password, and everything a security officer needs while on duty.
Requirements
- Security officer created in the team
- Phone number stored, without it there is no app access
Signing in
The security officer enters their mobile number and receives a one-time code by SMS. There is no password. After a restart, the session is renewed silently, so a new SMS is not needed every morning.
Office staff sign in through a separate link with an email address and password. The role then determines which interface appears.
A brief network interruption while retrieving the role deliberately does not sign the user out. Instead, it leads to a retry screen.
The five tabs
- Board: open shifts that match the security officer. The server filters them in advance. Only shifts with no requirement or with a qualification held by the security officer are shown. There are also quick filters for "Nights" and "Weekend". There is deliberately no radius filter, so festivals and travel jobs remain visible.
- Shifts: the security officer's own assignments, switchable between upcoming and completed.
- Available: a weekly grid of seven days by three bands, morning, afternoon, and night. There is a recurring base week and exceptions for each calendar week. Absences are also requested from here.
- Messages: inbox for the scheduling team and notice board. Mandatory notices require confirmation that they have been read and appear at the top.
- Profile: qualifications, vehicle, place of residence, and Bewacherregister-ID can be maintained by the security officer. This tab also links to evidence, equipment, and contact preferences.
On duty
The shift details show map strips with the geofence, site and address, time window, carpool, contact person, assignment information from the scheduling team, and a site map if one is stored. Before check-in, there is a "Start route" action. Afterward, a shift timer runs.
Patrol and guard logbook only appear after check-in. This is the most common question: if you look for the functions without being checked in, you will not find them.
The sickness report asks for a reason and immediately starts the replacement search on the server. The reason is for the security officer to classify the report. For the scheduling team, only the sickness report itself matters.
Uploading evidence
The security officer uploads their certificates, selects the type first, and takes a photo or selects a PDF file. They can also delete their own evidence again. PDF, JPG, PNG, and HEIC files up to 10 MB are allowed.
If evidence expires within the next 30 days, a one-time push reminder is sent. Existing records without an expiry date do not trigger anything.
A security officer cannot upload their employment contract and cannot view it in the app. It contains salary data and remains with the owner.
Contact preferences for the replacement agent
The security officer decides separately for each channel whether they may be contacted by WhatsApp or phone call. Each decision has a timestamp. They are asked once when the app is first opened after signing in.
Differences between iPhone and Android
The range of functions is largely the same. Three points differ:
- NFC checkpoints only on the iPhone. QR and manual capture remain available on Android.
- Expiry dates for work permits and residence permits only on Android. On the iPhone, an expiry date can only be set for the extended certificate of good conduct, so the expiry reminder for these documents is not triggered there.
- Screenshot protection only on the iPhone.
Both apps support 15 languages. There is also a field mode that enlarges text and increases contrast for assignments in poor lighting conditions.
Related
- NotificationsEleven triggers, each in 15 languages, plus a feed in the Cockpit.
- Guard PatrolsCheckpoints at the site, patrols in the app, and evidence in the Cockpit. This also includes an honest explanation of what a scan proves.
- Qualifications and § 34aSeven qualifications, nine document types and a check that strictly blocks scheduling.
